A lover of sports and art, Japanese sculptor Haroshi creates fantastic pieces built from used skate shapes. These three-dimensional creations, kind of a wood mosaic, draw attention for their colors and layers.
To achieve such features, the artist stacks a number of skate shapes, cuts the pieces and then begins the polishing. When everything is ready, Haroshi inserts into each work a metal piece from the discarded skate. According to him, this is a way of giving his creations a “soul”.
