Due to his hability and creativity, artist Alexandre Farto (aka Vhils) manages to create for the most diverse plataforms. Paper, wood and metal are some of the materials used by the portuguese to elaborate his ideas. But the most interesting work on his portfolio is the one he does on walls around the world.
Creation comes from destruction, at least according to the old hindu philosophy. This idea is pretty much alive on Alexandre’s work, as he uses drills, bleaches and acids to create his Scratching the Surface series. Traditional sprays, inks and stencils are also on the list of materials used on his interventions, brought to ligh on the streets of London, Italy, Portugal, Moscow, New York, among others.
