b. is one of Greece’s top street artists, and if you walk around the downtown areas, you can see his cute girls adorn the walls as part of the urban landscape,.. and they undoubtedly make you smile- someone bothered to make these neglected areas beautiful, at their own expense, at the risk of getting arrested.

Following the fact that he makes his work aesthetically pleasing, and actually quite adorable, he seems to do the areas he paints a service of sorts, as they are usually in the most decrepit of areas and the residents of the areas appreciate what he is doing.

Shooting him in Tokyo, however, was completely on the contrary, and probably the most stressful of scenarios as, despite the fact there are a plethora of great graffiti writers in Japan, the public understanding of street art is pretty much zero, and the laws here are completely intolerant of what they see as vandalism. After nearly getting arrested, which would have surely had him deported, after spending some time in jail, he managed to paint three pieces, two in the yakuza controlled area of Kabukicho, which is the epicentre of Tokyo sleaze, and one outside Shibuya, which is actually the world’s busiest train station.

The last stop was in the favelas of Rio!
