Sao Paulo Ambiguous, the new exhibit by photographer Claudio Edinger, opened November 1st at the 1500 Gallery, in New York. It brings a collection of pictures of Sao Paulo in tilt-shift, technique pioneered by Edinger, and goes on through March 26th, 2011.

Last Friday (12), London Miles Gallery opened the exhibit The Idol Hours, in which 41 artists show their own interpretations of classic paintings. Van Gogh, Picasso and Rembrandt are some among the revisited masters. It goes on through December 1st.

On November 10th, Ron English opened his latest exhibition, Status Factory. It consists of a surreal assemblage of over 100 artworks by the artist, including paingings, sculptures, murals and billboards. It goes on through December 17th.

From August 6th through September 18th, the Anno Domini Gallery, in San Jose, receives Pangea, a solo exhibition by Brazilian artist Fernando Chamarelli.

From August 4th through 21st, Jonathan LeVine Gallery receives the exhibit Two-Way Street, which features four Brazilian artists. The project is the result of a partnership between galleries Jonathan LeVine and Choque Cultural.

In the artists first Solo exhibition in Canada, Daniel Martin Diaz continues to explore unanswered questions of his family’s beliefs and to evoke the mystery, fear and irony of his vivid memories.

Spier Contemporary is one the most important exhibitions on the African continent that recognizes and celebrates what it means to be in Africa today and what is possible for 21st century Africans. The exhibition is of a breathtaking level: aesthetics, philosophy and engagement are combined in a way that shows the visitor an incredible overview of Africa’s contemporary artistic expression. An important part of the show is the performances.

The director of the classic movies like ‘A Clockwork Orange’ and ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, Stanley Kubrick is certainly one of the greatest north American filmmakers of all times. But what only a few people know is that the artist began his career as a photographer. Exhibition: 16 April - 04 July of 2010.
